Welcome to the new Developer Rocket website, we have taken way too long to make this! As you know, it’s often your client’s work that takes priority over your stuff so it’s hard to find the time. We are a web development business based in Kent, our office is in Rochester but we work with clients all around the country and sometimes around the world.
How did Developer Rocket start?
We started with just one person, Daniel Grosso, that’s me. After graduating from University with a degree in Computer science I wanted to try running a business, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. Making things has always been something that’s appealed to me so it was the natural route. I got my first client but simply emailed them after reading a new business had opened near me, to my amazement they emailed straight back. £600 later I made them a great-looking website that they love and still use to this day.
Since then we have grown and now provide a full range of services:
SEO (Search engine optimisation)
Web development
Marketing
Marketing focuses on getting more customers and sales to your business. This involves several things including PCC advertising, lead generation, SEO, social media marketing, and more! If often encourage our customers to either run Google or Facebook ads with a custom, highly converting landing page to increase the amount of customers getting in touch. We have successfully done this for several businesses, recently we did this for an accountant client where we spent £200 in Google Ads and acquired over £2000 worth of business for them.
Web hosting
We host many of our client’s websites as we have our own servers. Anything from small one-page websites to large e-commerce stores. When we host a website it means that if a client has any issues we can fix them straight away without having to log in to third-party hosting platforms. We also provide free SSL certificates and emails.
E-commerce development
Creating an online store is a bit more complex than a regular website as it involves payment processing, products, orders, emails, and more. We normally recommend using WordPress or Shopify when making an e-commerce store as these are the most reliable and flexible CMS’s. We’ve got a lot of experience in making e-commerce stores of all kinds including:
Quinns Pins – a Shopify store selling cute accessories, jewellery, and enamel pins.
NORDISK PREPPER – A WordPress store based in Sweden selling outdoor equipment.
Lullaby AI – Another WordPress store selling AI-generated images from 3D baby scans.
Web Design Kent
Kent is a competitive space for website design, there are tonnes of companies that do it. When looking for a company that does web design or web development there are a few things to look out for to make sure they are legit and good at their job.
How to find a good web designer in Kent
- Reviews: Do they have a decent amount of reviews to prove that they have real customers? It’s also important to check if these reviews look real, you can buy Google reviews online. It’s illegal to buy reviews as it violates FTC guidelines. A good way to see if the reviews are real is to search for the customer or business name that did the reviews. Or if they match up to their work page.
- Good website design: What’s worse than having a web design business with a bad web design? Make sure the business has a great design themselves, otherwise, how can you trust them? Check if they have a favicon, and check if they update their blog posts on a regular basis. Check the site is mobile-optimised.
- Check their recent work: Any good web design company will have a strong portfolio of work they are proud of. Check through this page and make sure they have some really nice-looking websites on there.
- Pricing page: Not all websites have a pricing page, but if you have a specific budget in mind then it’s good to look for this page and see how they structure their pricing.
- Blogs: Every website that is in use should have blogs, we use these to share the latest info about the business and to write about stuff we’ve learned. For example, a blog post that gets us a lot of traffic is How to show two columns on Contact Form 7, we wrote this because we often needed to do this, and there weren’t many blog posts that explained it well. Another example in a different category is this one we wrote for Under the Rose, Discover the Perfect Personalised Gold Necklace. This blog post also gets them a good amount of traffic!
